If you want to make a dream reality, if you’re yearning for adventure, and you need some inspiration or guidance to make it happen, STAAG is the society for you.
Welcome to STAAG, St. Andrews Adventure Group. We are a student run society at the University of St. Andrews, founded in 2007. STAAG has canoed across Scotland, gone down the River Thames by pedalo, driven from St Andrews to Mongolia in ambulance and pick-up, crossed the African continent by bike; and this is just a small selection of previous adventures!
Our philosophy is: adventure with a purpose. The STAAG concept joins adventure, challenge, adrenaline and charity. Through our many expeditions we support various local and international organizations; check out those supported in the past here.
If you have an idea for an adventure, we are here to help you make it happen. We also run a number of annually recurrent trips, open to all adventurous students, and if you’d just like to share stories and have a chat with like-minded people, come along to our socials, during which a wacky idea or two is also likely to emerge.
